SEVEN St Helens teens have been handed apprenticeships by a local housing association.
The new recruits, all aged 16-18, have been hired by Helena Partnerships to learn a host of new skills across the finance, rents, community development and tenancy support departments.
As well gaining on-the-job experience and earning a wage, the young apprentices, who recently completed a week’s training at St Helens Chamber, will also be to work towards new qualifications.
Since 2008, Helena has created 36 apprenticeships for local people - with a further two apprentices currently being recruited.
Penny Aspden, of Helena, said: “We are delighted to welcome on board our latest apprentices who will be given access to a whole range of valuable experiences which will be sure to help them progress in their careers.”
