CARMEL College is celebrating 20 years of its French department exchanging visits with a college in Western France.

Lycée de Lattre de Tassigny, in the town of La Roche sur Yon, was a brand new college 20 years ago and as Carmel was only a few years old itself, it was the start of a beautiful friendship! The very first exchange group in 1992 consisted of 16 students and two French teachers, Margaret Houghton and Frank Park, both of whom are accompanying the exchange group this year too.

As the numbers of students at Carmel have grown over the years, so has the exchange with more than 40 students taking part one year.
