Drink-drivers, thieves and man caught in possession of drugs are among those who have appeared before magistrates in recent days.

Hayley Louise Asson (34): Wrigley Road, Haydock - At Morrisons supermarket, Boundary Road, St Helens, stole £80 of cash belonging to Peter Hatton. Discharged conditionally for nine months. To pay compensation of £80 and to pay victim surcharge of £15. To pay costs of £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

Jonathan Mark Leach (42): Bosworth Road, St Helens - Drove a vehicle on Bosworth Road, St Helens, with 57 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the prescribed limit of 35 microgrammes. Fined £265. To pay victim surcharge of £26. To pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months.
