A 63-year-old man from St Helens who attacked his wife is among who have appeared before magistrates recently.

Alan Stanley Woods (45) - Dudley Place, St Helens: Used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour: Conditional discharge for 12 months, £15 victim surcharge, £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Dillan James Ainscough (20) - North Road, St Helens, Drink driving on Kimberley Avenue, St Helens, with 48 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, with the legal limit being 35 microgrammes, driving without insurance or a licence: £160 fine, £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, disqualified from driving for 12 months.

David Hodkinson (63): Millon Grove, Grange Park, St Helens - Assaulted Beverly Hodkinson by beating, damaged a mobile phone and a tablet/lap top worth a total of £210 belonging to Beverley Hodkinson: Restraining order not to contact the victim or enter Fir Street, St Helens, £90 fine, £210 compensation, £20 victim surcharge, £300 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
