A TEENAGER had to be rescued by firefighters after getting her knee trapped in a set of railings.
Whiston fire crews from were called to Shaw Lane in Prescot shortly after 6pm on Tuesday.
They used hydraulic spreaders to help part the railings and release a 17-year-old girl’s leg.
Watch manager Ian Wooldridge said: “The girl had been playing on the pavement with her friends near railings that protect pedestrians from traffic. One of her friends pushed her knee and it became stuck in the railing.
“We freed her and I checked her for injuries and asked if she wanted an ambulance. There was a slight pressure injury but she refused an ambulance and said she was fine.
“We advise people not to play near railings.”
