LITTLE Lauren Hale raised £52 for HoneyRose Foundation - by running up and down the town hall steps.

The plucky six-year-old, who attends Holy Cross Primary, was inspired into action after watching her dad compete in the St Helens 10k.

Dad Alan said: “She really wanted to do the 10k with me but obviously she couldn’t because of the distance so we said we’d sort something else out for her.

“We gave a list of charities to choose from and she picked HoneyRose, and she got to it. I’m so proud; she’s a really good girl.”

The youngster also raised a further £12.69 by running around her friend’s garden 10 times, to bring her fund-raising total to £64.99.

HoneyRose chief executive Lynn Duffy said: “I think is a fantastic feat for someone so young, if only everyone was like her. We are very proud of Lauren and very grateful.”
