Actress Stephanie Davis’ ex-boyfriend Jeremy McConnell has been released by police after he was arrested after a report of an assault at an address in Rainhill.

Davis and McConnell, 27, made headlines when they started a relationship during a series of the reality TV show, Celebrity Big Brother.

The couple split shortly after Davis became pregnant with their child.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “Following a report of an assault at an address in Stephenson Grove, Rainhill, a man has this morning (Thursday, 16 March) been arrested.

“A 27-year-old man from Liverpool city centre has been arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage after voluntarily attending a police station on Merseyside.”

Police say he has been released pending a disposal decision, which means that he is still under investigation as inquiries continue.

Former Hollyoaks actress Stephanie, 24, hails from Rainhill and still lives in the area.
