St Helens actor Michael Parr has been nominated for a string of awards at a top soap opera awards ceremony.
The 29-year-old, who plays TV bad boy Ross Barton in the ITV soap Emmerdale, is up for four gongs at the Inside Soap awards, including the best actor prize.
He is also up for the sexiest male, best affair and best bad boy.
Michael, who won best newcomer in last year’s awards, said: “I’m very flattered to have been nominated for four awards this time, especially best actor.
“Sexiest male is always flattering - you don’t see yourself that way, but it’s lovely to be nominated for it.
“I’ve got stiff competition from within Emmerdale itself - and the other soaps - in the best bad boy category.
“Fingers crossed - I’m going to feel under a lot of pressure at the awards ceremony.”
Michael added: “It was tricky. I only told close members of the family. I even changed the work section in my biographies on Twitter and Instagram and sent out Tweets to try to make people think I’d really left the show.
“Some fans arrived at the studio with birthday presents for me and I couldn’t go out to thank them, as word would get out I was still there.”
