ARCHBISHOP of Liverpool, Rev Patrick Kelly, conducted the blessing of Carmel College’s new chapel.

Water from the Well of Samaria in the Holy Land was used during the ceremony, which co-incided with Archbishop Kelly’s 50 years as a priest. Among the guests were the two students whose designs were chosen for the stained glass windows, John Brennan and Elliot Garner.

During his visit, Archbishop Kelly took a tour of the campus to see the new facilities that have been built over the last three years.

Principal Rob Peacock said: “Archbishop Kelly has made the day a very special one. The students and staff he met were really impressed by his warmth and energy.”
