Astronomers in St Helens are invited to spend a night with the stars tonight.

The Liverpool Astronomical Society (LAS) is hosting an event at Taylor Park tonight from 7pm until 9.30pm, in partnership with St Helens Council’s Ranger Service.

Members of the LAS will display several telescopes for viewing the moon and other celestial objects in the night sky, if conditions are clear, and take event-goers on an out-of-this-world, illustrated talk on astronomy.

The event is free and open to all members of the public.

For more information call the St Helens Council’s Ranger Service on 01744 678 073, contact Brian Martin, Observatory Director for the LAS, on 0151 489 0270 or visit www.liverpoolas.org.
