The snake, reported missing from Silkstone Street yesterday (Thursday, September 26), is a five-year-old flat-headed Boa Constrictor which is about four-and-a-half feet long and three centimetres wide and is black with a distinctive stubby tail.

While the snake is non-venomous and is not a danger to the public, if it is seen people are advised not to approach the snake and to contact Merseyside Police on the non-emergency 101 number, or the RSPCA on 0845 241 7253 / 0151 374 2174.
