SENTENCING on a former soldier who killed another man in St Helens town centre has been adjourned.

Stephen Thomas was due for sentence on Monday but the Recorder of Liverpool, Judge Clement Goldstone, QC, adjourned the hearing so that the judge who dealt with the trial can sentence him.

Thomas, 26, had denied murdering 40-year-old Darren Bolger in a fight but admitted manslaughter.
