Hundreds of runners will take to the streets of St Helens this morning for the St Helens 10k.
It will be a poignant edition of the race as it is the first since of the death of founder Steve Prescott.
The rugby league legend passed away last November after a long battle with stomach cancer.
The race he launched has rapidly grown in stature and is now one of the most popular 10k events on the racing calender.
Runners will get underway at Langtree Park from 9am, running through the town centre, up the infamous North Road hill before looping back and making their way back to Saints’ ground.
Well-known faces, including ex-Saints players and hero soldier Andy Reid, will be competing alongside ordinary club and fun runners.
Good luck to everyone taking part.
