Rainford High School is continuing its drive towards excellence in all areas of education and has announced a new partnership with the AJ Bell Trust for the next three years to support youngsters with the potential to show exceptional performance in Sport and the Arts.
The AJ Bell Scholarship will award funding to students in order to support them in developing their talent to the maximum and support them in a small way in furthering their ambitions beyond the academic curriculum.
Principal Ian Young said: “As a school we want to support all our young people in achieving the very best outcomes but sometimes we have students whose talents develop in a direction we as a school find challenging to support.
“The inspiration for the idea came from the number of young people who achieve regional, national and international recognition for their talent and hard work but receive little tangible support from their school and wider community. This partnership with the trust allows us to do this and I would like to say a big thank you to the trust and Andy for kindly agreeing to support the idea and the young people who will benefit.”
The school hopes that this partnership will allow more local young people to achieve their dreams and make their ambitions come true.
The AJ Bell Trust was set up by entrepreneur and ex Rainford High student Andy Bell who said, “This is a great opportunity for me to put something back into a school that gave me fantastic start in life.”
