Police are hunting a man after a bike was stolen from St Helens Central railway station.

British Transport Police believe the man may hold vital information about the theft of a gret Giant XTC mountain bike at about 11.45am on Thursday, February 19.

Investigating officer PC Dan Armstrong said: “The owner of the bike had secured it in the racks at St Helens Central. When he returned to collect it the following Monday he discovered it had gone.

“Two men were seen to approach the bike at 11.45am on February 19 with one of them cycling away.”

He added: “We would urge the man in the image or anyone who recognises him to contact BTP to help with our investigation.”
