A ST Helens man has been charged in connection with a serious assault after a man was found in the street suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Jason Fitzgibbon, 39, of Ranworth Gardens, Nutgrove, was charged with grievous bodily harm last week following an incident in Fallows Way, Whiston, near to the Village Hotel, on March 3 last year.
Following a flashpoint, a 52-year-old man was left suffering from a head injury and a number of stab wounds.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.
Danny Smith, 25, has also been charged with GBH in connection with the same incident.
Smith, of Warren Road, Crosby, also stands accused of GBH in connection with an incident on Lark Lane, Liverpool, on July 30, 2004.
Both men appeared before Liverpool Magistrates’ Court last Friday morning (January 13).
They were both remanded in custody prior to an appearance before Liverpool Crown Court on April 20. Neither defendant entered a plea.
