A man and woman from St Helens held over the death of a teenage girl who died after taking an ecstasy tablet have been released on police bail.

Faye Allen, 17, collapsed after suffering an adverse reaction to a pill while on a night out with friends in Manchester.

Police say they believed the teenager from Liverpool took a ‘MasterCard’ ecstasy tablet.

Officers arrested a 19-year-old man and a woman aged 20 from St Helens on suspcion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

Greater Manchester Police say the pair have been released on police bail until July 1.
