THE trial of a St Helens man accused of murdering his neighbour has been halted after he fell ill.
Paul Lyon, 45, of Chapel Street, is said to have stabbed 22-year-old Heather Dyer three times in a row over noise in July last year.
Mr Lyon , who lived in a flat below the victim, denies murder saying he acted in self-defence.
The trial started on Tuesday and a re-trial is expected to take place in April.
Judge Clement Goldstone said the jurors had been discharged from their duties as it would not be in the interests of justice to continue with the trial.
