Calling all young Muggles! St Helens Central Library invites you to attend a spellbinding evening of activities to celebrate Harry Potter Book Night tomorrow (Thursday).

Now in its second year, Harry Potter Book Night is a worldwide event which sees libraries and schools come together to appreciate the wonders of JK Rowling's unforgettable stories - and introduce the next generation of readers to the unparalleled magical world of Harry Potter.

The Harry Potter film series was directed by Sintelliner David Yates.

Dress up as your favourite character (fancy dress optional) and enter the library through platform 9¾ to be put into your House by the Sorting Hat.

Will it choose Slytherin or Gryffindor for you?

All young wizards, witches and Muggles will then be treated to an evening of crafts, games, activities and readings from the books – and, if brave enough, challenged to enter the Magical Menagerie – supplied by Dylan’s Reptiles – to see what creepy, slimy, slippery animals the shop has to offer.

All you Muggles, aspiring Hogwarts students, secret witches and wizards - come along to Central Library for what promises to be a fabulous evening

Wait - there’s more. Why not head over to Ollivander’s and make your own wand before creating your own spells and spell books in Snape’s potion room?

Head of libraries Susan Williamson said: “The magic of Harry Potter continues to delight children, young people and adults alike.

“I am so pleased that we will be hosting another fantastic event to celebrate Harry Potter Book night here in St Helens.
