A Haydock man who went missing from his home has been found dead.
Christopher Muldoon was last seen on Wednesday by his partner.
Police made a public appeal for help to find the 40-year-old on Friday evening.
But his body was discovered on Saturday afternoon by a passer-by on a footpath on open ground in Cooper Lane, Haydock.
A cause of death is yet to be established but police say there are no suspicious circumstances.
Mr Muldoon, of Mount Pleasant Avenue, Haydock, was last seen alive at around 11.15pm on Wednesday.
A police spokesman said Mr Muldoon’s next of kin had been informed and detectives were now preparing a file to be passed to St Helens’ coroner.
