POLICE have charged three men with murder after the disappearance of a St Helens man.

Paul Morson, 31, was last seen alive in June driving his van.

The vehicle was found abandoned several days later in Cheshire.

Four men were arrested last Tuesday as part of an planned raid by Merseyside Police.

Ray Brierly, 59, of Windy Arbour Road, Whiston, Scott Callaghan, 33, of Abbey Road, Anfield and John Burns, aged 33, of Clipling Avenue, Huyton, have been charged with murder.

Callaghan has also been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Mr Morson was orginally from Huyton but moved to St Helens several years ago. His family reported him missing when he failed to return home from work.

No body has ever been found but detectives already feared Mr Morson was taken against his will and harmed.

All three will appear before Liverpool Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday, 5 April). A 23-year-old man from Whiston has been released on police bail.
