Man, 25, charged following dawn raids

Detectives have charged a 25-year-old Newton man in connection with a series of dawn raids across the region.

Nathan McGrail, of Whinchat Avenue, Newton-le-Willows, has been accused of conspiring with others to transfer criminal property.

He is due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning.

Officers from Merseyside Police’s serious organised crime team executed warrants at addresses across the region on Thursday, including one raid in Newton.

Three other men have also been charged following the raids.

They are:

Anthony Bath, 22, of Montague Road, Old Swan - charged with conspiring with others to transfer criminal property, and with supply of Class A drugs (heroin and cocaine).

Daniel Owens 22, of Childers Street, Old Swan - charged with conspiring with others to transfer criminal property.

James Lunt, 25, of Celendine Close, Wavertree - charged with conspiracy to produce cannabis (a Class B drug).

Four other men remain in police custody.
