a ST Helens woman turned heads at Ascot with a crazy hat featuring a Jubilee theme!
Businesswoman Lynne Webster was shocked to discover her dazzling headwear attracted so much attention.
The 47-year-old, of Billinge, was one of the first women to arrive at the famous racecourse and her patriotic hat to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee was the talk of the event.
She said: “I was there early as my friends got stuck in traffic and the next thing I knew I had lots of cameras around me, with people asking about my hat.
“I own a salon, Shimmers Hair, in St Helens, and we have held a patriotic theme for the jubilee, so I thought I would continue that at Ascot.
“I was absolutely stunned to have rows of photographers take photos of me - I felt like a celebrity.”
The hat - a till-box design with the Union Flag design and a diamond encrusted 60 emblem - was designed by Maggz Bennett of Leeds.
Lynne added: “I followed her on Twitter as I thought she was very talented and I told her what I wanted and what I was wearing and she came up with the design herself.”
