Looking to the heavens with a prayer

YOUNGSTERS at a St Helens primary school look to the heavens as they end a day contemplating the role of religion in their daily lives.

St James CoE Primary, in Lyme Street, Haydock, held a religious education day promoting the school’s Christian values of friendship, trust, wisdom, and peace.

The day ended with an outside celebration, with the school anthem being sung before the children released helium-filled balloons with prayers attached. Four have been found; two in Birmingham, one in Gloucestershire and one in France.
