ARSONISTS torched an industrial wheelie bin.

Firefighters were called to an underpass near flats on Brookside Road, Whiston, shortly before 5pm on Monday (September 10). It took around quarter of an hour to extinguish the blaze.

Watch manager Ian Clarke, of Whiston Fire Station, said: “There were three large domestic wheelie bins in this underpass. Storing bins in this way is not the safest approach. The metal of the bin was damaged.”
