Top award for businesswoman
Heather Corbett
A WOMAN from St Helens has been crowned the UK marketing industry’s top young professional.
Heather Corbett, the marketing manager for Innovation First International, collected the Young Marketer of the Year Award at the glitzy Marketing Society Awards for Excellence, held at the London Hilton.
One of three shortlisted candidates, she was recognised for her outstanding marketing contributions in the past year on behalf of the only toy brand nominated for the award.
Mrs Corbett joined the company less than two years ago, when the now hugely popular HEXBUG® brand had a low profile and lacked consumer awareness in the UK.
Throughout 2011, she implemented a strategic and comprehensive marketing campaign that helped it become a star of the UK toy industry.
Earlier this year, the Toy Retailers Association, the voice for toy retailers in the UK and Ireland, awarded the brand a special recognition at the annual Toy Industry Awards in 2012.
Mrs Corbett was even voted by Toy News magazine as “One to Watch” as well as one of the best “30 under 30” young achievers.
She said: “I am over the moon to be recognised as a young leader in my industry amongst other brilliant brand leaders, and look forward to making additional contributions to the UK marketing industry, which I am very passionate about.”
