Teenage girl attacked for bike
A teenage girl was pushed to the ground and her bike stolen by a gang of youths as she rode past Lowe House church.
Police say the victim's ordeal began when the four-strong gang began hurling vile abuse at her.
They then cornered the terrified victim before one of the group violently shoved her to the ground as another picked up the bike and rode off towards Victoria Park.
The victim was extremely shaken by the incident - which took place on North Road on Tuesday, January 6 at around 6.50pm - but unhurt.
The stolen mountain bike is made by Carrera, has dual suspension and is sky blue.
All four youths were all wearing dark clothing and scarves across their faces. One is described as being around 5ft 8in tall with big ears and was wearing a wooly hat with a zig zag pattern.
A second was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up and a third youth was wearing a Lowe Alpine wooly hat with folded up ear warmers. The last youth was wearing a waist-length jacket with goggles in the hood.
* Witnesses should call or anyone who has been offered the bike for sale should call police on 0151 777 1565 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
