A WOMAN smashed a fellow pubgoer’s window following a heated row.
Lisa Killilea hurled a brick through Paul Collins’ front window following an argument with one of his friends at The Sunbeam Hotel in Newton-le-Willows.
St Helens Magistrates’ Court (pictured) heard how a row erupted inside the pub at about 10pm on August 15, which resulted in the defendant being asked to leave.
But Angela Blackmore, prosecuting, told how Killilea lingered around outside before approaching Mr Collins when he too left a short time later.
When she offered an apology, Mr Collins told her that there was no need to apologise to him because the argument was nothing to do with him.
But when he then went inside his home, on Old Wargrave Road, Killilea hurled a brick through his front window - causing glass to shower the furniture in his front room.
A neighbour saw the defendant run away and hide behind a nearby car and Mr Collins subsequently tracked her down hiding underneath the vehicle.
In a police interview Killilea, 24, of Oak Avenue, Newton-le-Willows, said she had only smashed the window because she had been called insulting names and had beer thrown in her face.
Dave Achilles, defending, described the incident as “a moment of madness that she now bitterly regrets”.
He also asked for his client to be given full credit for her early guilty plea, and added: “It was a very stupid thing to do. She accepts that now.”
Justices issued Killilea with a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered her to pay £67 compensation.
to her victim and £85 towards costs.
