TWO St Helens schools have open new libraries.

St Aidan’s Primary in Billinge welcomed Saints star Jonny Lomax to the school to officially open the new facility.

The purpose-built building was funded by the Diocese of Liverpool and governors, while the new books and furniture was paid for by fund- raising from the pupils, staff and the local church.

Meanwhile, year six pupils at Garswood Primary organised the school library’s move into a new room – presenting their ideas to governors, raising an order and overseeing the transfer.
