Purple Aki death rumours unfounded

Akinwale Arobieke

Akinwale Arobieke

RUMOURS of the demise of one of the region’s most notorious sex fiends have been greatly exaggerated, say police.

Whispers circulated Twitter over the weekend about the apparent death of Akinwale Arobieke - known to many people across the region as “Purple Aki”.

But a spokesman for Merseyside Police insisted that the rumours were not true.

Arobieke, who stands 6ft 5ins tall, is currently serving a two-and-a-half year prison sentence for breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order, which was imposed in 2008.

Previously, he had been jailed for six years in 2003 for harassing 16 young men - many from St Helens - and making bizarre demands to touch their muscles.
