THE chief constable of Merseyside Police will work with St Helens Council and the force area’s other local authorities in a bid to tackle gun crime.

Chief Constable Jon Murphy said: “The force’s specialist Matrix team has dedicated detectives and uniformed officers who target gun crime offenders and disrupt the criminal activity of those on the fringes.

“It’s hard work, it’s expensive but it’s been proven to be successful.”
