Torch-bearer Kelly Whalley and chaperone (no name available) carries the Olympic Flame on the Torch Relay leg through St Helens
THE Olympic Torch has just entered St Helens and is slowly making its way through the the town.
The official relay entourage crossed the East Lancs Road into Windle to cheers from the watching St Heleniers eager to take in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and lend their support to the torch bearers.
It is now moving through the borough - after Windle it will be carried along Rainford Road and Greenfield Road before a changeover where the road meets Dentons Green Lane.
The torch then turns right at the Lingholme pub and left onto Kirkfield Street past Asda.
At the big roundabout at the bottom of Westfield Street the route will see the torch carried up Borough Road and onto Prescot Road before crossing over into Prescot.
