Man hurt after car hit lamppost

A MOTORIST was hospitalised after a car collided with a lamppost.

Emergency crews were called to Park Road, near Fingerpost, shortly after 3.20pm last Friday (August 17).

A 63-year-old man was taken to Whiston Hospital by ambulance for a precautionary check-up.

Firefighters from St Helens and Eccleston remained at the scene for about 20 minutes to make the vehicle safe.
