Man arrested on suspicion of murder

A 44-year-old man from St Helens has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a prostitute in Liverpool city centre.

The body of Anne Marie Foy, 45, from Kensington, was found in undergrowth in Crown Street just over a year ago. She had been beaten and strangled.

The arrest follows an emotional appeal for information made by Ms Foy's family exactly a year after her death.
