SAINTS have launched an extra-special charity shirt in aid of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

Set to be worn when Saints host Hull KR on June 29, the limited-edition shirt is designed in the charity’s colours and comes with its own commemmorative box - complete with a numbered certificate.

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity - formerly the Army Benevolent Fund - is already backed by hero St Helens soldier Andy Reid, who lost both legs and his right arm in a bomb blast while serving in Afghanistan.

Established in 1944, the charity supports soldiers and former soldiers whatever the circumstances, whatever the rank and whatever the campaign, working with veterans of every conflict since the Second World War.

They currently help more than 4,000 people each year, assisting individuals and specialist charities, and have sponsored Saints star Chris Flannery for the last two years.

Andy Reid said: “The Solders’ Charity supports the entire Army family and through the Charity I have met amazing people who test their physical and mental limits to raise much-needed funds for others.

“I keep pushing myself forward to show other injured guys what can be done, to show them it’s not the end of the world and you can carry on as normal a life as possible.”

Limited to 750 only, the shirts will go on general sale in the week commencing June 25.

Priced £49.99 for adults and £36.99 for children, you can pre-order now by calling into the Saints Superstore at Langtree Park or via the online Saints Superstore.
