High flying art show

A long-running art group is exhibiting a free show in St Helens.

Members of the Sefton Guild of Artists will be displaying their work at the Godfrey Pilkington Art Gallery above Central Library until April 30.

Set up in 1975, the Guild has displayed and sold artwork in the Northern Lakes in Cumbria, Wales and the Wirral.

St Helens Council's Arts Services says it very much welcomes the artists to St.Helens.

Their artistic professionalism and creative talents are very high and alongside traditional and more contemporary paintings, the artists also produce sculpture, pottery and embroidery.

Arts Officer Kim Whitfield said that members benefit from mutual support and the exchange of ideas, resulting in a fascinating display to please all tastes.

Admission is free and people of all ages are welcome to the exhibition. To find out more call Kim on 01744 675492.
