Gardner joins Whitehaven on temporary deal
Ade Gardener is on his way to Whitehaven
ADE Gardner has joined Whitehaven on a dual registration deal.
The former England wing ace will turn out for the Kingstone Press Championship side against Keighley on Sunday.
Saints have recently signed a dual registration agreement with Rochdale and Whitehaven, allowing its first-teamers to play for both sides.
It is unclear how long 29-year-old Gardner, who has endured a torrid time with injuries over recent years, will be with Whitehaven.
He will be joined at the Cougars by youngster Anthony Walker.
Saints’ general manager Mike Rush said: “We are indebted to Dave Woods and his team for allowing us the opportunity for our first team players to get valuable game time at a high level.
“Both Ade and Anthony will benefit from the match against Keighley as they look to force their way into Nathan Brown’s first team plans.
“We have real competition for places at the Saints and agreements such as this and with Rochdale enable our players to build up vital match fitness.”
