Foster service thumbs-up

GOVERNMENT inspectors have classed Knowsley Council’s foster service as “good” in all areas.

Ofsted inspectors reported that “many young people made positive comments about their carers”.

One young person said “I always feel safe because they look after me very well” and another commented that “I can go to my carer about anything”.

Kitty Ferris, Knowsley Council’s service director for safeguarding and specialist services, said: “The safety, happiness and success of children in foster care placements is the service’s main priority and it’s really reassuring to receive such a positive assessment from independent, government inspectors.

“The quality of care provided by our foster carers is key to the successful wellbeing of young people in placements.”
