A NEW networking lunch for business figures in St Helens is being launched.

The inaugural event of Network 72 will held on Thursday, March 7 at Saints Langtree Park stadium.

Organisers have signed up the Bishop of Liverpool, the Rt Rev James Jones, as the speaker.

It is being billed as an opportunity to network over a business lunch and to hear a first class communicator.

The event is being organised by Rev David Eastwood of St Helen’s Parish Church.

He said: “Network 72 is a new networking opportunity, particularly aimed at business and professional people working in and around St Helens.

“It provides an opportunity to meet together socially and to hear leading speakers, speaking from a Christian perspective on a range of topics.”

The Rt Rev Jones is one of British’s foremost religious speakers.

And he recently chaired the commission into the Hillsborough disaster. On Monday, he announced he would be stepping down at the end of the year.

Anyone who would like to attend the event - which costs £5 - can contact St Helen’s Parish Church on 01744 22909.
