A ST Helens man on the run after escaping from prison is suspected of staging a robbery at a Blackpool travel agents.
Detectives believe Lyndon Stein, 49, terrified staff by implying he had a weapon and demanded money during the June 1 raid.
Stein was sentenced to life imprisonment in February 2006 for numerous robbery offences but on April 29 this year he absconded from HMP Springhill.
He is now wanted for similar offences by police forces across the UK.
Insp Gareth Willis from Lancashire Constabulary said: “We’d urge anybody that thinks they have seen Lyndon Stein or knows of his current whereabouts to contact Lancashire Police on 101.”
“It is possible he could still be in Blackpool but he should not be approached and anybody that sees him should call police immediately on 999.”
