Police have named a cyclist who died following an early hours crash on the outskirts of St Helens.

Terry Brown, 47, of Great Sankey, Warrington, sustained serious head injuries following a collision on Warrington Road, Bold Heath (pictured), at about 6.30am last Tuesday (February 18).

He died in hospital on Tuesday night. Mr Brown had been discovered on Warrington Road by a passing motorist at about 6.40am.

A 38-year-old Warrington man was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on police bail.
