A MOTORIST escaped unscathed after his vehicle overturned in a field following a two-car crash.

Emergency crews were called to Mossborough Road, Rainford, at 7am this morning (Friday, September 21) following a crash involving a black Renault Megane and a black Vauxhall Corsa.

When police and paramedics arrived at the scene, the Megane was on its roof in a nearby field.

Amazingly, the driver of the Megane, a 26-year-old man, escaped unscathed and declined hospital treatment.

The driver of the Corsa, a 24-year-old woman, was also uninjured.

A police spokesman confirmed that the driver of the Corsa agreed to have her car towed away following the collision.
