A MULTI-million pound care home is set to open in St Helens this spring, creating 80 jobs.

The £4.5m Madison Court care home, in Parr, will provide residential and nursing care for 66 people with dementia.

The development is a joint venture between award-winning care company CareConcepts and Merseyside-based Primesite Developments.

Martin Clark, managing director of CareConcepts, said: “This is an excellent opportunity to build on our current provision in Manchester and Warrington.

“We are committed to ensuring older people can access excellent care in modern purpose built accommodation and this partnership will enable us to expand the range of services we can offer.”

Madison Court comprises of three units with lounge and dining areas, three bathrooms with specialist baths and hairdressing and beauty rooms.

All bedrooms have en suite facilities and there is also a training suite available for staff use.

CareConcepts and Primesite Developments are now working with St Helens Chamber, employment service Starting Point and regeneration group Re:New Parr as part of the recruitment drive – arranging jobs fairs and encouraging interest from potential employees.

Kerry Tomlinson, director of Primesite Developments, said: “St Helens has been very forward-thinking in terms of regeneration over the past few years and the jobs provided at Madison Court will further boost the economy.

“We believe the care home to be well-positioned in Parr. Our research showed a big demand for care facilities in the area.”

Parr councillor Andy Bowden, St Helens Council’s cabinet member for urban regeneration and housing, said: “As well as assisting in tackling the growing challenge of meeting the needs of those with dementia, the opening of the home is providing a much needed boost to the area in terms of jobs.

“I have been pleased with the willingness Martin and his team have shown to work with us to recruit from the local area and to become part of the local community.”
