Bouncers on trial over attack on Saints star

THE trial of three nightclub bouncers accused of assaulting Saints star Sia Soliola is set to start hearing evidence today.

Christopher Rose, Lee Simpson and Keiran Waters deny attacking the St Helens ace.

Rose, 33, of Hansby Drive, Speke, Simpson, 24, of Newarth Drive, Lymm, and Waters, 25, of St Chad’s Road, Chester, all stand accused of committing GBH.

Soliola, 28, suffered serious facial injuries in an incident outside the Imperial Bar on Ormskirk Street in the early hours of March 12.

Rose, Simpson and Waters have also been charged with a section 39 assault on Saints youngster Chris Forster.

The trial is scheduled to last five days.
