Crews were called to a blaze at a house fire in St Helens

Firefighters were called out to tackle a blaze at a house which was under construction.

Crews from Eccleston and Kirkby were called to a house on Sidings Lane, Rainford, shortly before 3pm on Monday (April 14).

When they arrived the ground floor of the property was well alight and a third appliance, from St Helens fire station, was requested to assist.

The ground floor of the property was left severely damaged by the blaze and part of the first floor and roofspace were also damaged.

Firefighters remained at the scene for about three hours.
