4.45PM UPDATE: Linkway re-open to traffic

THE St Helens Linkway has re-opened after a brief rush hour closure.

The St Helens Linkway was shut to traffic after an incident involving a large maintenance vehicle breaking down near to the McDonalds roundabout.

Traffic was being diverted an the Linkway East has been re-opened to ease the traffic situation.

Emergency crews have now cleared the area of the broken down maintenance vehicle.

The road was closed at 3pm.
