Comedian Johnny Vegas won £1,000 for St Helens charity the HoneyRose Foundation when he appeared on a celebrity special of ITV gameshow The Chase on Saturday.
The comic appeared alongside fellow celebrities Meera Syal, Kyran Bracken and David Emmanuel on the Bradley Walsh-fronted show.
Unfortunately, Johnny and the team didn’t manage to win the big money prize - but did win £1,000 each for their chosen charities.
HoneyRose Foundation trustee and former Mayor of St Helens Terry Shields said: “We think it’s great that Johnny picked the HoneyRose Foundation as his chosen charity. It’s a great honour for us.
“If there’s one thing we know about Johnny it’s that he is very dedicated to his hometown. He has always been very supportive of all local charities, not least HoneyRose.
“We would like to thank him very much for his help - at a time when many charities are struggling.
“The money he raised will be very well spent - it will be used to grant wishes for terminally ill adults.”
You can still catch the celebrity special of The Chase on the ITV Player for the next 28 days.
