Husky racer Pete Dowling struck bronze with his three-dog team at a World Cup dry-land mushing event which featured teams from all over Europe.
The 45-year-old, of Marshalls Cross Road, was delighted to see his dogs Demon, Riot and Anarchy finish third in a race in which they pulled him around a designated course in Norfolk on a three-wheel cart.
Pete, who owns an 11-strong pack of huskies, has only been keeping huskies for the last four years but is already well and truly hooked.
He said: “We had a brilliant weekend in Norfolk. It went even better than we could have expected.
“Ever since I was little I always liked the husky breed. I bought the first one as a rescue dog for my partner and the pack has just got bigger and bigger ever since. I love their work ethic. As soon as you put a harness on them they are like a duck to water.
“I’ve been keeping huskies for the last four years and racing them for the last 14 months or so. It’s great fun and the dogs absolutely love it. It’s what they’re bred for.”
