POLICE are searching for a 5ft boa constrictor that has escaped from its owner’s house.

The snake was reported missing from a property in Parbrook Road, Huyton, this morning (July 4).

A four-year-old boa constrictor, the creature is around 5ft long with black and green camouflage markings and yellow underneath.

It is non-venomous and described as normally very placid, but officers warn it may become aggressive if it feels threatened and are warning the public not to approach it.

Anyone who spots the snake is urged to contact Merseyside Police on the non-emergency 101 number.
