It could be losing weight or maintaining a balanced diet; quitting smoking or drinking less alcohol; being more active alone or with family, or even taking better care of your mental health.

With support from the Healthy Living Team, you’ve a greater chance of success.

The team is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of St Helens residents, offering a wide range of support services and activity groups, many of which are free to access.

You make the choice, the Healthy Living Team makes the difference.

If you want to lose weight or be more active, Choices Lifestyle Referral could be perfect for you.

Within the programme, you’ll get a free health check to highlight any areas of risk to your health, discuss your goals and decide on a physical activity improve your fitness or lose weight.

To join, simply ask your GP or Practice Nurse to refer you to the Healthy Living Team.

Similarly, the Fit 4 Life programme offers a more casual range of opportunities for all ages and abilities, with separate sessions for different age groups, including early years, 4-13 years and 14-19 years, which cover everything from healthy eating to positive mental wellbeing.

If your family is set to receive a new addition this year or you already have a young family, the Infant Feeding Team can help you provide the best possible start with practical support available on breastfeeding, and advice on introducing solid foods.

If you want to drink less alcohol or quit smoking in 2016, there’s a variety of friendly, non-judgemental services available in the borough to support you.
